Liefdeslied

Almal smeek my maande lank
om 'n liefdeslied te skryf
asof ek maklik kan geboorte gee,
met die leegheid in my lyf
ons sien jy so gelukkig
skoor 'n tydskrif nou die dag
deel tog met ons lesers
wat jou deesdae so laat lag

Ek sê maar niks nie,
glimlag net gedweë
hoeveel moet 'n mens die wêreld wys,
hoe sit 'n mens jou teë
teen nuuskierigheid van mense
wat so graag wil weet en ruik
aan die muskus van jou lelie
en die mufheid van jou lyk

Almal smeek my maande lank
om 'n liefdeslied te skryf
en ek onthou hoe jy hier weg is,
al die rusies en gekyf.
Hulle sou dit so geniet het,
die verwyt en pyn
en my liggie wat geweet het
teen jou aanslag probeer skyn

Ek sê dus niks nie,
glimlag net gedweë
hoeveel moet 'n mens die wêreld wys,
hoe sit 'n mens jou teë
teen nuuskierigheid van mense
wat so graag wil weet en ruik
aan die muskus van jou lelie
en die mufheid van jou lyk

Almal smeek al maande lank
dat ek 'n liefdeslied moet skryf
asof ek maklik kan geboorte gee,
as dit leeg is in my lyf
ons huis het ook stil geword
en ek word elke aand bemin
deur ekstatiese gehore
wat die web al stywer spin

Dan liewer niks nie,
glimlag net gedweë
soveel sal ek die wêreld wys,
so sit ek my dan teë
teen nuuskierigheid van mense
wat so graag wil weet en ruik
aan die muskus van my lelie
en die mufheid van my lyk

Everybody's been begging me for months
to write a love song
as if I easily can give birth,
with the emptiness in my body
We see you so happily do
a magazine the other day
please share with our readers
what makes your laugh these days.

I do not say a thing,
just give a forced smile
how much must one show the world,
how does one resist
against the curiosity of folks
that so eagerly want to know and smell
at the edge of your lily
and the putridness of your corpse

Everybody's been begging me for months
to write a love song
and I recall how you departed,
all the arguments and drinking
They would have enjoyed it so
all the rebukes and pain.
and my little light that knew
how to shine against your onslaught.

I do not say a thing,
just give a forced smile
how much must one show the world,
how does one resist
against the curiosity of folks
that so eagerly want to know and smell
at the edge of your lily
and the putridness of your corpse

Everybody's been begging me for months
that I have to write a love song
as if I can easily give birth,
with the emptiness in my body
Our house also became quiet
and every night I am loved
by extatic audiences
who spin the web tighter

Then rather nothing,
just give a forced smile
so much will I show the world,
so I resist
against the curiosity of folks
that so eagerly want to know and smell
at the edge of your lily
and the putridness of your corpse
