Note:

The normal word order in Afrikaans is verb second. These conjunctions do not change the normal word order.

Examples:

Ek is hier en u is daar.
Ons eet appels of ons drink water.

Piet staan op die mat.     Anet sit op die stoel.
     => Piet staan op die mat enAnet sit op die stoel.
     => Piet staan op die mat want Anet sit op die stoel.
     => Piet staan op die mat maarAnet sit op die stoel.
     => Piet staan op die mat ofhy sit op die stoel.
